In a hard gust any compact umbrella can invert. The difference is what happens next. Umbremo's fiberglass ribs flex instead of creasing, so you press the button, it resets, and you carry on. Rigid metal ribs bend once and stay bent.
How does the one touch open and close work?
Press the button on the handle and the canopy opens. Press it again and the canopy collapses. Then push the shaft back down against a firm surface until it clicks, ready for next time.
Will it actually fit in my bag?
Yes. Folded it is about 2 inches across and weighs 0.86 lb, less than a full water bottle. It drops into a tote, backpack or glovebox, and the hook clips to the outside of a smaller purse.
Is it big enough for two people?
The open canopy covers about 41 inches across. That is generous for one adult with a bag, and workable for two people walking close.
